Driving to and from work is a twice daily affirmation of my loss of faith with humanity. Houstonians are idiots when it comes to driving, and I feel as if they wake up in the morning and take stupid pills before they get on the road. OK people there's congestion on the road, so you can't be zipping around at 80 mph and be surprised when you rear end someone. With that said, I'd appreciate it if you also wouldn't go 10 mph, because then I'll just hate you forever. I am not in the mood at 7:20 to be playing driving games. For instance, today as I was trying to merge on a ramp, this Ford Explorer (with a huge dent in the back mind you), saw I had my blinker on and sped up to my blind spot and WOULDN'T ACCELERATE until I started inching in. If you want to be ahead of me fine, but move so I can get over. And then once I move over after a hole Explorer decides to finally go he decides to slam on his brakes, and I have to move over to the shoulder so I don't cause an accident. I seriously play with my life every morning and afternoon. No wonder people lose years of their lives by just commuting.
With that said, I'd much rather deal with this than Oklahoma driving in general. Texan drivers are very aggressive, I will admit to that, but Oklahoma makes up for the too cautious driving. I have never in my life seen yield signs on an entrance ramp, until I moved to Oklahoma. People would literally stop and wait for cars to go by until they decide to merge. That to me is extremely dangerous, and those wonderful people at the JCC told me that is NOT what to do when entering a freeway. Also I have never seen "Minimum speed" on an interstate until I moved to Oklahoma. You have to think that the reason those signs are up there is because there are actual people going 30 mph in a 70 mph zone. What?!
